tabay to visit Lut-od
September 18, 2005
Tabay, Tsinelas’ campus volunteer group in Southwestern University (SWU), has scheduled a visit to Lut-od National High School (LNHS) in Pinamungajan, Cebu next month. The group set the visit on Oct. 15 and 16.
The group’s officers and some members met last Sept. 18 at the residence of Tabay adviser Andrews Maquiling, a member of the SWU faculty, in Sambag 2. They initially agreed to bring during the visit books and school supplies for Lut-od students.
Tabay plans to meet with LNHS’s third year class, where Tsinelas’ ten full scholars belong. The class has around 50 students.
LNHS is Tsinelas’ pilot area, located in the mountainous barangay of Lut-od some four kilometers from Pinamungajan town proper.
This coming Sept. 25, Sunday, Tabay will also hold a teambuilding workshop at the St. Theresa’s College (STC) along Gen. Maxilom Ave. Cebu City. The group hopes the seminar will strengthen camaraderie among members.
Tabay has 25 members, all of them nursing students. Shortly after the group was formed early this school year, Tabay was given accreditation by SWU. It hopes to expand membership by including students from other departments.
Tabay is one of three campus volunteer groups of Tsinelas, the other two being ‘Yano’ of STC and the ‘UP-Tsinelas’ of the University of the Philippines-Cebu.
